Interestingly, Samsung owns a bunch of patents for devices with foldable/rollable displays. Many of the industry analysts believe that Samsung will be streamlining these devices in the future. Coming back to the main news, at the SID Display Week 2016 event, SlashGear got the footage of the foldable display in action. The video shows the device in a glass case for giving it a controlled surrounding. Due to the glass case and added machinery, the real capabilities of the display are not truly revealed. However, we can now believe that the device exists.

In a report, Korean Herald says,”Some of the products to be unveiled at the event, will serve as an indicator for what kind of technology Samsung will choose for the next Galaxy smartphones and other digital devices down the road,” As per the rumored specifications for the Galaxy X, the device is expected to come with a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The foldable AMOLED screen is tipped to weigh 5 grams (0.18 ounces) with a depth of 0.3 millimeters (0.01 inch) along with a radius curvature of 10mm. The radius curvature reveals that the display can be rolled back into a circle of 10 millimeters (0.39-inch). Samsung has been in the news for quite a while, thanks to its groundbreaking display technology.
